The expertise we bring

Angus founded Ecclesian to capitalise upon more than 20 years of experience working on a wide range of sectors and markets. During his career he has worked in more than 60 countries and built up an extensive network of personal contacts and local partners.

Much of his work has been undertaken in developing, often fragile economies, including those emerging from conflict. Angus’ depth of knowledge and insight beyond data allow him to unravel the complexity of cultural, social, political and economic risks in such environments. He simplifies complex situations to allow evidence-based decisions to be made with the maximum confidence.

In addition to his consultancy engagements, Angus serves as Chairman of a life sciences software company which recently raised $4m of investment. He is an Industry Advisor at Oxford University Said Business School where he teaches strategic thinking to the MBA course. Angus is an accomplished speaker and has given talks about the challenges and rewards of operating in emerging markets. He has worked for both large organisations and start-up companies and retains a particular interest in renewable energy and sustainability. In 2008 he was awarded an OBE for services to the reconstruction of Iraq, where he led a series of humanitarian projects.
